Sandow Birk “The Horrible & Terrible Deeds & Words of the Very Renowned Trumpagruel” 2017 A series of lithographs created by Sandow Birk while Artist in Residence at the Auckland Print Studio in New Zealand. The images were hand-drawn onto lithograph stones during June and July of 2017. They are an edition of 10 each, and come in a purpose made folder, which itself features a lithograph printed title panel and chine-collé. The project was inspired by the books “Gargantua and Pantagruel” written by François Rabelais in the 16th Century, which tell of the adventures and misadventures of two bumbling giants. Printed and Published by Auckland Print Studio Each print measures 380 x 280mm (15” x 11”).
